Climategate Roundup

It's been interesting to follow the chatter leading up to the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

You've got a 1000 comment defense of the hacked emails over at Real Climate, a more measured response from Peter Kelemen in Popular Mechanics, and and John Muscat wondering if we should really put blind trust in any politically charged scientist?

What's interesting is that the hacked email defenders seem to be focusing on defending the term "trick" when the most effective attacks target a much more damaging term from the same message: hide the decline.

This whole thing might be most interestingly framed as a study in rhetoric.
