Alice Bieszczat and Joe Schwieterman, Ph.D., are researchers at Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development at DePaul University, located in Chicago's Loop district.

Bieszczat, who completed her graduate studies at DePaul in early 2011, won the first-place award for her research on taxation burden at this year's Transport Chicago conference.

Schwieterman, the author of several books on transportation and planning, is widely know for his work on transport economics. Among his recent publications is an analysis of the expansion of Boltbus, Megabus and other "curbside" bus operators. He has testified before committees of the U.S. Congress on several occasions.
