I'm in search of a decent job. I hope to relocate in a work environment, whether sparsely populated or corporate-sized, where the special intelligence and contributions of each employee, whether a colleague, a fellow team member or a subordinate, are willingly, enthusiastically appreciated and acknowledged by fellow workers. Whether what emerges through work and experience is precisely the unique contribution for which an employee was first hired or the serendipitous appearance of new talents, inspired by the new work milieu, I want to be among fellow workers or supervisors or subordinates who rejoice at possibilities; where no one is treated as "less than"; where even those at the top are aware of how employees or colleagues complement their own weaknesses, so that throughout the structure there is a joy in giving credit without resentment to all the worker(s) who pull the project through.

I will be working the rest of my life, maybe as many as 30 years more. I come from sturdy lines on both sides of long-lived women from Belarus and the Ukraine, and I'm healthier than any of them. I don't smoke or drink alcohol (migraines), eat mostly wisely and exercise. I have the energy to keep learning, to work hard-plus for a reasonable employer in a collegial atmosphere.

I've been fortunate to have spent many years writing and producing and traveling and meeting extraordinary people while working in print and broadcast journalism, university public information, and free-lancing. It's a different world from the one I entered and adventured in where past accomplishments, even if not directly relevant, got you the chance to prove you could do things you'd never done before. Today there's less time to waste but I know how quickly I can learn. I want to contribute, if only from my long and fortunately wide-ranging experience. I look forward to communicating with some of you.

Interests:

I love swimming, sailing, making dolls and stuffed animals and their costumes; writing, reading, being with children as they grow and learn; languages, travel, learning as much as I can about the natural sciences and trying to penetrate the more arcane disciplines. I find that I can translate carefully guarded research and its findings in a way that doesn't insult the researcher and informs the reader or listener in a dramatic and exciting fashion. I enjoy following politics and welcome the constantly changing means of expressing my opinions and reactions.
